Taco Tuesday

‎"My head says, 'who cares?' But my heart wispers...'you do stupid.'"

Some days are not the greatest days, especially when the heart and the head are bickering. Lucky for me, my head won the bicker battle today!

My heart has been hurting a little bit these last couple of days due to the recent revelation that I received from my dear pal (not so dear not pal-- I feel like Taylor Swift when I use the actual names of stupid boys but I'm not going to use his name right now-- protecting the ignorant). We are no longer friends on the account of he "do[es]n't do buds."

As much as I would love to post our most recent conversation all over my blog, I find it a bit inapropriate to do so on the account that I am unaware of the people who actually read my blog and my blog is available to the public for viewing and I am much too mature to reveal the immature words of my used-to-be-friend all over the entire cyberworld. Meaning: all over MY entire cyberworld.

Anywho...

Today was great!

It was sunny and warm.

I wore my new red hat!

for Androids came out today.

love. ♥

Also, I would have been more than content with my day had I only experienced this.

I do not know who he is or where he is from, but I do know that he decided to dance his little heart out in front of the Education Building for me today. Now, I normally wouldn't be in the Education Building at all on a Tuesday, but I was there today and that is all that really matters. I like this guy. Keep dancing pal, you make people happy! :)

Good day so far, right? Well, it keeps getting better!

After I learned everything there is to know about how awfully out-of-the-loop I am in the world of technology, my dear friends and I went to PHYSICS! In case I haven't mentioned this before, I love Physics. Right now it is possibly my favorite class.

We played with slinkies.

And I snapped this cute picture of Steven Mortensen and I.

The walk home from school was lovely. I traveled with my friends Melanie, Katie and Blake. Blake and I discussed Taco Tuesdays and I expressed my desire to experience a Taco Tuesday because before today I had yet to experience the magnificence of a discounted Cafe Rio Taco. On a Tuesday.

I made it safely home and whipped up a good old Triple Berry Smoothie to drink. I spread some Laughing Cow Cheese on a whole wheat tortilla for myself to eat! Then, my friend Britney and I decided to go steal our spring break pictures from Steph. She wasn't home. That was upsetting, but it was still sunny so the sun took away our sadness. I then dropped Britney off after a few minutes of chatting about the changes that have taken place in our lives since Thursday, which was when I last saw her. Then I went home and I banished myself to my bedroom.

If I don't banish myself to my bedroom, I am sometimes tempted to scream at my roommates. I don't enjoy screaming, therefore I banish myself to my bedroom.

I checked my email before I decided to do anything else and this is what I found!

That is super hard to read. Click on the picture to view the full size image or don't, because I will explain to you what is going on. Recently, I have been having a lot of second thoughts about being an Elementary teacher. I love little kids, but I don't know if working with them would be the best choice of a career for me. So, I have been thinking a lot lately about switching my major to Secondary Education and possibly teaching Physics or English. However, I have been worried that my TH Bell Loan Incentive would be taken away from me since I got the loan to be a Special Education teacher. So, I have been procrastinating my major change for fear of getting all of my money taken away from me. Yesterday, I decided to be brave and email Amy Wilcox who is in charge of the TH Bell funding for Utah State.

Amy,
I am not going to need to use TH Bell for the summer semester but I do have a question for you. I was just wondering if my funds can or will be taken away from me if I change my major from the one that I put on my TH Bell application. For example, switching from Elementary and Special Education to something in Secondary Education?

Thanks

Karlie

Her reply......

No. As long as you stay in a teaching major, you will have the TH Bell.

Thanks

Amy

You can imagine my excitement at this wonderful news! I can switch my major without having to take out a million loans to pay for the next three years of my schooling. Amy Wilcox, you are an answer to my prayers. Thank you.

After an hour or so of updating my blog and doing some homework, I received a text from my dear friend Emily Esplin explaining that Blake told her that I would like to join them for Taco Tuesday! This just added to the greatness of my day! I told Emily that I would be delighted to join her and we arranged a time to eat tacos. 6:30.

Em and I met Blake and his posse at Cafe Rio, which was nice because it gave us some time to talk about girl things. I enjoy spending time with Emily. She is a nice, happy, positive girl with wonderful story telling abilities!

I'm not supposed to eat pork but I got two pork tacos anyway. THEN WE TOOK THEM TO EAT THEM AT FIRST DAM! I must say that it was a brilliant idea considering how beautiful today was. Unfortunately it began to get quite chilly by the time we got to First Dam, but we still had a blast. I made some new friends named Austin, Cam and Jordan. They were already acquainted with Emily and Blake which made it more adventurous for me! They brought a softball with them along with a few mitts. We spent a reasonable amount of time tossing the softball to each other. The boys coached Emily and I in catching and throwing. I never have considered myself sporty nor will I ever consider myself sporty but today, I wasn't a sissy little girl throwing a softball. I threw balls well enough to be caught and I caught the balls that were thrown to me. I feel very accomplished. Thank you 9th grade Recreational Softball..

In the hours following my return home from the softball game at the dam, I have been blogging and doing homework (attempting to). Soon, I think I might go swing in a hammock with a boy [whose name is NOT Bradon. (I haven't decided if I'm sad about that or not yet.. Obviously I am or else I wouldn't even question it. Guess I decided. Sad.).]. Anyway..

Hammock, with boy. :) The stars are supposed to be super great tonight!
